This Pretty in Paris themed party was filled with charming details: an outdoor flower cart with a build-your-own-bouquet station, a chocolate box-making table, and the most beautiful petite fours and sweet treats.
Pretty in Paris Themed Party
I have one sweet little girl who is always surrounded by four brothers, so when her birthday comes around we go all out girlie. Over the years we’ve hosted everything from a gingerbread decorating party to an American Girl celebration. We also enjoy celebrating throughout the year with events like a Vintage Valentine’s tea party, a Galentine’s Day gathering or even a playful Christmas in July.
This Paris-themed party leaned into pinks, flowers and—of course—chocolate. To keep the children engaged, we created two activity stations: a flower cart for selecting and arranging blooms, and a chocolate box-making table. Simple execution kept the celebration relaxed and fun, and it turned out to be the right decision. My husband ended up hosting the event with help from some wonderful friends when I was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital the morning of the party. Thankfully, our medical story had a happy ending: our baby is healthy and thriving.

Party Favors
Favor ideas came easily once I found these adorable puzzles from a local shop. I added pretty tags and ribbon for a personal touch. These small gifts felt special without being over the top, and they suited the Parisian theme perfectly.

I also arranged for decorated sugar cookies from a talented baker friend. The edible cookie box she created doubled as a stunning centerpiece and a delicious favor. Paired with a selection of mocktails, the treats made for an elegant and kid-friendly spread.

Outdoor Flower Cart
The flower cart was a highlight. The girls loved choosing their own blooms and arranging bouquets. I found the cart years ago at a yard sale and saved it for a special occasion—it was the perfect prop. A black-and-white fabric canopy added a French-inspired touch, and simple containers kept the display cohesive.

For flowers, I recommend a mix of inexpensive blooms, wildflowers, filler like baby’s breath and a few roses for variety. Most of our flowers and containers were purchased affordably in bulk, which is ideal for a children’s activity where they mainly enjoy the experience rather than the specific types of flowers.

Build Your Own Bouquet Station
After “shopping” at the cart, each child wrapped her bouquet in kraft paper and tied it with twine. Simple wrapping keeps the focus on the flowers and creates a charming, market-style presentation. You can also use themed wrapping or newspaper if you prefer—anything rustic or pretty will work well.
These bouquets could be wrapped in themed paper or simple kraft as we did; both look lovely and give the flowers a finished look.
Chocolate Box Making Station
The chocolate box station was equally popular. I purchased bulk chocolates and provided small boxes for the girls to fill. Laying out the chocolate on trays and placing empty boxes nearby made it an easy, hands-on activity. The kids sampled treats as they assembled their boxes, which added to the delight.

Naked Cake
The birthday cake was intentionally simple: a small 6-inch naked cake adorned with a delicate sprig of baby’s breath. With so many detailed elements throughout the party, a clean and classic cake felt just right and complemented the overall aesthetic.

Overall, the party was easy to recreate at home and worked especially well outdoors, which made setup and cleanup simple. Even though I missed the event, hearing how smoothly it went was such a relief. The combination of hands-on stations, pretty details and delicious treats made it a memorable celebration for the birthday girl and her friends.
If you’re planning a similar gathering, consider these ideas: a flower cart and bouquet station, a chocolate box activity, simple themed favors and a minimal, elegant cake. These elements come together to create a charming Paris-inspired party that’s fun for kids and relaxed for hosts.
